Diwali Mela at LSR College for Women
As most of the Volunteers associated with project KOSHISH belonged to LSR College, naturally they were very enthusiastic about the Diwali Mela at LSR. They started their preparations in full swing the moment they got the dates. Basti Children also were fully involved with the preparation in much earnest. We conducted an Arts & Craft workshop at Centre a week before the Fest for the art work, volunteers tied-up with some bakery shops for cakes & muffins.
Sessions for the making of Greeting Cards, gift boxes, decorated diyas, lanterns, attractive envelopes and other decoration stuff, handicraft items etc were held at the centre almost on a daily basis. In short the whole week was dedicated for the Diwali Mela preparations. Like every year, many beautiful stalls were put together at LSR College ground on 5th October 2013.
After all the hard work and pursuit of efforts, an array of attractive and choicest items were placed on display from candles & diyas, apparel, jewellery, handicrafts and games besides sumptuous food items on offer. The KOSHISH volunteers put up their stall of games, Diwali items and delicious pastries.
